"Is Your Love Strong Enough" was first released in 1985 on the soundtrack to Ridley Scott's motion picture, Legend. The track used in the end credits of the film and the album soundtrack was the shorter 4:42 version, this video incorporates the longer 7:06 extended version that was released after the film's theatrical run....one of my very favorite songs of all time. The song features, of course, Bryan Ferry's always perfect vocals, and also features fantastic guitar work by David Gilmour (of Pink Floyd fame) and bass by Guy Pratt. The song was a former out-take of the recording sessions for Avalon, the eighth and last Roxy Music album. As a huge fan of Ridley Scott first three films (The Duelists, Alien, and Blade Runner), it was very exciting to hear in the mid-80's that he was directing a fantasy for his fourth effort. I saw the picture opening day and loved ! everything about it....especially the two songs used in the closing credits, which both combined involved the talents of four artists that had long been among my very favorites....Bryan Ferry, Jon Anderson, David Gilmour and Tangerine Dream. A few years after the films was released I was very excited to stumble across the 12" vinyl that included the extended mix which was approximately two minutes longer.
